Inland Waterways

Ledwood Technology's traffic monitoring systems and Inland VTS have both been designed from their inception to operate as distributed systems over heterogeneous networks. They provide remote monitoring and control from a wide range of sensors to facilitate efficient management of your waterways.  Developments specifically targeting inland waterways included the integration of Rhine approved radar scanners, Inland S57 charts and Inland AIS, a range of extension messages specific to inland applications.

User definable zones and routes assist monitoring traffic progress and warn of unwanted, or risky traffic patterns before they become more serious.

CCTV cameras can be tasked to look at, or follow, any track or location available in the system. The CCTV resource manager has the ability to automatically hand-off between cameras as tracks move between camera coverage areas.

All sensors including radar, VHF and CCTV can be networked to provide coverage in some of the most difficult to manage locations.  Communication links can be selected to provide the best level of reliability, bandwidth and running cost (as necessary).  All sensor data, traffic information and events are recorded to enable quick and efficient in-house training and incident investigation.
