AIS
Automatic Identification System (AIS) is based primarily on GPS for position information and VHF communication for transmission of dynamic, voyage and static information to other systems capable of receiving AIS data.
According to IMO regulations, which came into force in 2008, all SOLAS vessels are mandated to carry and operate AIS transponders.
Salient features inherent in all our systems:
Multiple sensors
Keeping in line with our 'Everything Everywhere' technology, we bring together feeds together from multiple AIS units and de-duplicate them before logging/recording. The multiple AIS units need not be close by, they can be spread over Wide Area Networks (WANs) over several hundred miles.
Making traffic management easy
Our AIS systems display AIS targets on a chart background, making and providing mechanisms for early warnings of possible collisions, as per operator requirements. We also provide route and lane traffic monitoring to provide alarms/warnings for unexpected behaviour.
Accountability and event analysis
All our sensor data is logged and recorded providing essential tools for incident analysis and checking history. Recordings can be played back or extracted for investigations. The logged data can be analysed using SQL Queries to find out exactly what was transmitted, when.
